Courage Co-op: “What our new goats mean to us”

komera women with goats16 Goats for Komera!

Generous donations from WD4H supporters Clare, Gayle, Louise, Maria Teresa, Peter, Sigrid, Victoria, and our World Dance class fees enabled us to deliver 16 goats to the Komera (Courage) Cooperative in Rwanda this month. We have given a total of 128 goats to this cooperative, so each family now has a goat. This means they have a reliable income source to pay for food, health care, school tuition for the younger children, and other basic necessities. Get to know these women – see what they have to say about this changes in their lives:

“This is a perfect timing for us to receive these wonderful goats, we just started the rainy season where our livestock have enough to eat. We thank our donors so much for having made it possible.” MARGARITHA

“I can’t wait to bring this news to my family. This is such a great support toward their development. This goat is our job as we will be taking good care of her. She will bring us money when we start selling offspring. My family is going to get fertilizer for our good production. I hope our loving donors can imagine how significant their role is in our development.” ANNONCIATA

“People might think that a goat is something small but for us a goat is very huge. From this goat, I can reach improvement in my family. My fellow members have been talking about the meaning of a goat and I completely agree what they said. What I can add on is that this goat will be a very memorable gift that will strengthen our love and friendship with our caring sisters from America.” THERESIE

FANTASTIC! “What impresses me most is that a small amount of money continues to make such a huge difference for our fellow human beings who live on the other side of the planet. Our small gifts have transformed their circumstances, and provided them an opportunity to change their lives. Truly significant!”
