Reusable Menstrual Pads for Rwanda

! Ruganeheza Crafty Ladies Pads group

Thank you, Crafty Ladies!

Carpinteria’s Crafty Ladies were busy again last spring producing REUSABLE MENSTRUAL PAD KITS for the women in our cooperatives. The kits were made with loving care and hand-carried by Festo and Odile, Rwandan students attending Westmont College here in Santa Barbara. The kits were distributed by our Rwanda Team to three of our Cooperatives which are all part of Never Again Fellowship:

Abaharaniramahoro (Striving for Peace), Genda Ugire Utyo (Go and Do That),
and Ruganeheza (Taking the Nation to a Better Future).

The Crafty Ladies received a generous donation of high quality flannel from
one of their members, and will soon be working on more pad kits for Rwanda.

Meanwhile, four of our cooperatives are busy setting up pad-making enterprises in their own communities. Thanks to support from our generous donors, they have the electric sewing machines, power source, supplies, and training they need, and will be launching their businesses soon.

This project is changing the lives of all the women and girls who are receiving the pads, and everyone involved in making them. What a wonderful partnership between women on different continents, bonded by their common experience as women, and sharing a desire to make things better for everyone. Period.

Our deepest thanks to everyone who has helped make this possible!
