On Saturday, Oct. 28th at 3:00pm, hundreds of World Dance Zombies rose from the lawn of Santa Barbara’s stunning Courthouse Sunken Gardens to perform Michael Jackson’s iconic dance in sync with groups all over the world as part of Thrill the World. This is the 7th year World Dance for Humanity hosted the event, which included 36 flashmobs performed over a two-week period leading up to Halloween.

For the children in Rwanda and in our own community

Our purpose in hosting Thriller was to have a fabulous time dancing together while helping people in need. The funds raised through Thriller will make it possible for 150 young people from impoverished families throughout Rwanda to attend school. These are children who would otherwise have no chance to get an education (learn more here: Rwanda Education Fund). A portion of the funds will also provide Membership Scholarships for the Westside Boys and Girls Club so some of the most disadvantaged children in Santa Barbara can take part in their after school program where World Dancers volunteer.
